ABSTRACT:
A 2.5 page paper which examines if gender concerns should be regarded as global issues or if societies should deal with them as they see fit. Specifically answers to such questions as are transnational groups a healthy sign of development or signs of western cultural imperialism, infringement of sovereignty and a threat to cultural integrity; should intergovernmental (or non-governmental) organizations become involved in legislating gender rights; and should a U.N. majority conclusion that the United States discriminates against women by failing to provide adequate public funding for abortions force the U.S. to change its laws will be provided.
